How it Works?
– Play Starts next Wednesday the 4th and the course will be, Casa de Campo
– Anytime between Wednesday the 4th and Tuesday the 10th close of business you can play your round.
– When you play your round, you have to announce that you’re playing to GPC staff so that they can set up the round as per the rules (1 mulligan, normal green speeds, 3.28ft concede etc) and record your handicap
– You’ll also need to login with the Golfzon Global app for the round. If you haven’t downloaded the app, please hop on the app store and do it.
– It will be $25 to play your round and for week one 1 only the entrance fee of $30.
– We will use a net score for rankings – the lowest net score will earn 35 points for the week, the highest will score 1 point. You’re really playing to beat yourself.
– We’ll do this every week through Labor Day and the person with the most points at the end wins – very much like the Formula 1 championship.
Prizes:
– First Prize: 5 Day stay at the Grand Solmar Cabo on GPC (airfare not included)
– Second Prize: Cash – The entrance fee, estimated to be around $1K
FAQ:
– Can I come in and practice the course in advance? Absolutely you can, but the round you submit must be announced to GPC staff to set up your official round and you must be logged into the app.
– What if I don’t have a Golfzon Handicap in the app yet? We can use your GHIN handicap as a starting place, but we all know that most people score better on sims because there are no bad lies or real bunkers. Therefore the GHIN handicap is an advantage as it will be higher. If you’re starting with a GHIN and you have between a 25-35 GHIN, we will subtract 4 points from your handicap. For example, you have a 25 GHIN week one – we will treat that like a 21 Golfzon handicap. For GHIN HCAP of 15-24 we will subtract 3 points and for a 5-14 HCAP we will subtract 2 points, and for under 5 we will knock off 1 point. The good news is that after about three weeks – everyone will be on GOLFZON HCAP because the rounds will be recorded in the app. WE WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO MAKE SURE THIS IS AS FAIR AS POSSIBLE TO EVERYONE.
– Will my Golfzon Handicap change week to week? It sure will. Handicap’s will be adaptive and the Golfzon App will track your HCAP each time you play. When you announce you’re playing your round, you’ll need to share your HCAP on the app at the start of the round.
– Should I just play a bunch of garbage rounds during the week to tank my handicap on the golfzon app before submitting my round? The app will track your rounds and if you try to game the system this way it will be super apparent and we will immediately remove you from the contest.
– Can I play the round with my friends? Of course you can, golf is better with friends. Just make sure our staff sets up the round and everyone participating in the Cabo contest pays $25. If your friend isn’t in the contest, the regular guest fee applies.
– What if I’m going away on vacation and I need to miss a week or two? No problem, we can work with you and let you play those weeks in advance.
