What an incredible season it’s been at Golf Paradise Club! Our Paradise League brought out the best in our golfers, showcasing skill, determination, and true sportsmanship. After 13 weeks of competitive play, we’re thrilled to announce our winners and celebrate some truly memorable moments from this season.
Special Awards: Recognizing Excellence
The GOAT Award for Best Score: Andrew McCalmont
Drew absolutely crushed it in Week 12, shooting an unbelievable (-7) on Vidanta Vallarta – Nayar. This phenomenal round showcased the kind of elite golf that makes our league so exciting to watch. Congratulations, Drew—that’s a score for the record books!
Most Improved Award: Brian Hoyos
Talk about a comeback story! Brian started as one of our +35 handicaps and finished the season with an impressive 22 handicap. Despite a challenging start, Brian’s dedication and improvement were nothing short of inspiring. If not for those early rounds, he would have been unstoppable. Way to go, Brian—we’re incredibly proud of your progress!
Most Missed Award: Ryan and Precious Noche
Even a move to Delaware couldn’t stop the Noches from finishing the contest! Known as tough competitors who brought their A-game to our team leagues, Ryan and Precious will be deeply missed at Golf Paradise Club. Your dedication to completing the season despite the distance speaks volumes about your character. Best of luck in Delaware, and we hope to see you back on the simulators soon!
Sportsmanship Award: Cory Werner
Cory wins this award by a mile. Golf isn’t always easy, and Cory faced some tough rounds this season. But here’s what makes him special: he showed up every single week with a positive attitude. He even paid for his last few weeks in advance just in case he couldn’t make it. That’s dedication. That’s class. That’s what Golf Paradise Club is all about. Cory, you’re a true sportsman and an inspiration to us all.
The Unexplained Mystery Award: Caleb Groffman
Week 3 will go down in Paradise League history. Caleb shot a net (-22) by posting a +5 with a 27 handicap on Vidanta Vallarta-Nayar. How the heck did that happen? We may never know, but damn, Caleb—that was one hell of a round!
The Grand Finale: Our Top Three Champions
3rd Place: Jim Hall – $500 Cash Prize
Jim Hall secured third place in dramatic fashion, edging out Drew by just ONE POINT! In a league this competitive, every shot matters, and Jim proved that consistency pays off. Congratulations on a fantastic season and enjoy that $500!
2nd Place: Shane Buggy – $1,000 Cash Prize
Shane Buggy put together an outstanding season, finishing in second place with only 14 points separating him from the top spot. Shane’s consistent play and competitive fire made him a force to be reckoned with week after week. Well done, Shane—that $1,000 is well-earned!
1st Place: Tate Van Hamburg – Trip to Cabo!
And the Paradise League Champion is… Tate Van Hamburg! Tate’s exceptional play throughout the season has earned him the ultimate prize: a trip to Cabo! Pack your clubs, Tate—you’re heading to paradise (the real one this time). Congratulations on an incredible season!
